🛡️ COPPA Compliant - Zero Data Collection From Children

Privacy Summary (TL;DR)

  • We collect ZERO personal information from children
  • No cookies or tracking on any learning page (Learn, Practice, Games, Print, Dashboard)
  • Privacy-first, cookieless analytics only: no personal data, no fingerprinting
  • Parents can optionally share their email for free resources, never required, never from children
  • Progress saved locally on your device only
  • Fully COPPA compliant for children's safety

1. Introduction

Teach Kids Times Tables ("teachkidstimestables.com") is committed to protecting the privacy of all users, especially children. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our educational website.

The bottom line: We never collect any information from children. Our learning tools (Learn, Practice, Games, Print, Dashboard) are 100% ad-free and set no tracking cookies. Parents can optionally give us their email address to receive free printables or blog updates. This is always optional and always adult-initiated.

2. COPPA Compliance

We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), which requires special protections for children under 13. Our commitment goes beyond compliance:

  • We do not collect personal information from children
  • We do not require registration or accounts to use any learning tool
  • We do not use tracking technologies or cookies on any learning page
  • We do not display advertisements on any learning page, ever
  • We do not share any information with third parties for advertising purposes

3. Information We Do NOT Collect From Children

Our learning tools require no account and no personal information from the child using them. We do not collect personal information, and we do not store technical identifiers, on any learning page:

❌ Personal Information

  • • Names or nicknames
  • • Phone numbers
  • • Addresses or location data
  • • Photos or images

❌ Technical Data We Don't Store

  • • IP addresses (not stored or logged)
  • • Browser or device fingerprinting
  • • Cookies or tracking pixels

The one exception: if a parent or teacher chooses to submit their own email address through a "free PDF" or blog subscribe form, we receive that email address. See Section 5 for exactly how that works. This is always optional, always adult-initiated, and is never presented to or required of a child using our learning tools.

4. How Progress Is Saved

✅ Local Storage Only

Quiz scores and progress are saved using your device's local storage technology. This means:

  • Data stays on your device - it never leaves
  • We cannot access or see this data
  • Data is not transmitted over the internet
  • You can clear this data anytime through your browser settings

5. Third-Party Services We Use

We keep third-party services to a minimum, and none of them ever appear on a learning page. Here is exactly what we use, sitewide:

  • Plausible Analytics: a privacy-first, cookieless analytics service. It counts page views in aggregate; it does not use cookies, does not fingerprint devices, and cannot identify individual visitors. Used sitewide, including on learning pages.
  • Netlify Forms: when a parent or teacher voluntarily submits an email address through a "free PDF" or blog subscribe form, that submission is processed and stored by Netlify, our hosting provider. It is used only to send the requested resource and occasional free tips, never sold, never shared for advertising.

We do not use, and have no plans to add to any learning page:

  • ❌ Google Analytics or any cookie-based analytics
  • ❌ Social media plugins or sharing buttons
  • ❌ Advertising networks or tracking pixels
  • ❌ Chat widgets or support systems

About blog ads: Our blog (the articles at /blog) may display contextual, non-personalized advertising to help fund free content for parents and teachers. These ads may use standard ad-serving cookies, scoped only to blog pages. Ads never appear on Learn, Practice, Games, Print, or Dashboard, and no ad or tracking code of any kind loads on those pages, even in the background.

6. Cookies and Tracking

🍪 Learning Pages: Zero Cookies

Learn, Practice, Games, Print, and Dashboard set no cookies and use no tracking technologies of any kind. The only local storage we use there is for saving quiz progress on your device, which is completely private and never transmitted anywhere.

📰 Blog Pages: Analytics + Optional Ad Cookies

Blog pages load our cookieless Plausible analytics, and may load non-personalized ad cookies as described in Section 5. Where required by law, we show a cookie notice on blog pages so visitors can make an informed choice.

7. Data Security

We collect no data from children, and the only personal data we ever hold is an email address a parent or teacher chose to give us. We still take security seriously:

  • HTTPS encryption for all website traffic
  • Regular security updates and monitoring
  • Secure hosting infrastructure
  • No child user accounts or child databases to compromise

8. International Users

Our privacy practices meet or exceed international privacy standards including GDPR (Europe), PIPEDA (Canada), and other regional privacy laws. Since we collect no data from children and only minimal, adult-provided data (an optional email address), there are no meaningful cross-border data transfer concerns.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. However, our core commitment to collecting zero personal data from children will not change. Any updates will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.

We encourage parents and educators to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect privacy.

Parent & Educator Note

We designed Teach Kids Times Tables with your peace of mind in mind. You can confidently let children use our Learn, Practice, Games, Print, and Dashboard pages knowing their privacy is completely protected there: no registration, no data collection, no tracking, no ads. Our blog is a separate, parent-facing section that may show non-personalized ads and use an optional email signup, never anything aimed at or collecting data from a child.
